Centre Awards

1.Participation and Service Awards.

All athletes registered with Wyong Athletic Centre Inc are entitled to receive a participation trophy, providing they advise they will be attending Presentation Day. A Service Award will be presented in increments of either 5 or 10 years with a trophy.

2. Ten Years Service Award 

Athletes completing ten years service (registration with LANSW, ANSW or NSW Athletics ) with Wyong Athletic Centre Inc will receive a suitable trophy and /or club bag as determined by the
Committee.

3. Athlete Life Membership 

Athletes completing fifteen years service (registration with LANSW or ANSW) with Wyong Athletic Centre Inc will be awarded Athlete Life Membership. The athlete will receive a suitable trophy as determined by the Committee. They will receive free Centre membership in subsequent years. (Fees payable to LANSW and/or ANSW must still be paid by the athlete). Athlete Life Members under the age of 18 are not eligible to vote at any meetings.

4. Age Champion 

U/7 to U/18 age groups, U/20 to 35 age group and 36+age group. 1 male and 1 female in each of these groups will win the age group Champion Award.
This will be determined by the following:
a) Every Thursday night of the season will earn points.

b) Points will be awarded per place in each event. 10pts for 1st, 9pts for 2nd, 8pts for 3rd and
so on.
c) Athletes will also earn 1 point for each event competed in.

To be eligible for this award an athlete must have attended at least 50% of competition nights.

All night from the 17th October until the 13th March are included in point score. 

5. Encouragement Award

U/7 through to U/17 age groups, 18 to 35 age group and 36+age group registered with WyongAthletic Centre Inc. 1 male and 1 female in each of these groups will win the age group
Encouragement Award. This will be determined by the following:

a) Every Thursday night of the season athletes will earn 1 point for equaling their PB, 2 points for bettering their PB and 1 point for each event competed in. The winners of the
awards will be the male and female athletes with the most points in each group other than the Age Champion.

To be eligible for this award an athlete must have attended at least 50% of competition nights.

All night from the 17th October until the 13th March are included in point score.

6. Record Acknowledgement

Record setters/breakers may be recognized at the discretion of the Committee. The form that the award takes will be determined by the Committee.

7. Athlete of the Year

a) The Little Athlete of the Year awarded to one athlete in the Little Athletics age groups as determined by the Committee to be the most deserving athlete.

b) The Junior Athlete of the Year awarded to one athlete in the 13 (U/14) to 17 (U/18) age groups as determined by the Committee to be the most deserving athlete.

c) The Senior Athlete of the Year awarded to one athlete in the U/18, Open or Masters age groups as determined by the Committee to be the most deserving athlete.
To be eligible for Little Athlete of the Year or Junior Athlete of the Year an athlete must be registered with Wyong Athletic Centre Inc and attend at least 50% of Centre competitions.
The form that the awards take will be determined by the Committee.

A separate Multi Class Athlete of the Year award may be awarded, at the discretion of the Committee, to either a Little Athlete, Junior or a Senior Athlete if appropriate.

8. Wyong Multi (Annual Multi Event Championship) (when held)
Medals will be awarded to athletes in the U/6 to Opens/Masters for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.
The best placed Wyong athletes will be awarded a medal if 1st, 2nd or 3rd places are filled by visiting
athletes.

9. Incentive Awards for NSW Athetics Registered Athletes
a) Athletes that qualify for and compete at State Track & Field Championships will be given $50. To be presented at Presentation Day with the State certificates. Applies to U/9 to U/18’s.

b) Athletes that qualify for Region Championships (and compete) will be given $20. To be presented at Presentation Day with the Region certificates.

c) Athletes that medal at ANSW State Track & Field Championships (U/20 and Open) will be given $50.

d) Athletes that medal at Out of Stadia Championships receive a $50 discount on the following season’s registration fee.

Athlete Sponsorship Program
Athletes that qualify for State team representation to compete at AA events or ALA events (including any joint events) should be encouraged to register or re-register with Wyong Athletic Centre Inc through the following incentive program.

a) 100% of registration fees reimbursed by Wyong Athletic Centre Inc

The above will apply to the athlete/s record from the season prior to registration or re-registration.

b) $250 to assist in travel or other expenses to be presented to the athlete on selection or entering
the event.

c) Promotion on the Centre’s website and the Centre will attempt wider publicity/promotion. The two items above will only apply for the athlete/s achievements during the Centre’s current
season after registration/re-registration. In return for the State team incentive athlete/s will be required to wear Wyong Athletic Centre
apparel (where permitted) at all athletic events.

d) Athletes qualifying to represent Australia in Track & Field teams or Out of Stadia teams will be presented with $500 immediately prior to departure with the team. This is in addition to any
benefits gained through the Athlete Sponsorship Program.
